Two different ways to shine

Community favourites will be chosen through a public vote from a checked shortlist. Each category will have published eligibility, opening and closing dates, and a process for checking votes.

Editorial selections will come from our own research against published criteria. They will be labelled separately from a community vote and include the evidence behind the choice.

Trust before trophies

• Businesses won’t be able to buy a place on a shortlist or a better result.
• Conflicts of interest and paid partnerships will be disclosed.
• Results will be checked before a winner is announced.
• Every award will carry a category, year and explanation.
